Ruby Saini is a Psychology Graduate Student with more than five years of experience in the mental health field. Along with a Master’s in Psychology, Ruby is also working on receiving a Certificate in Trauma.
In the past, Ruby has worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Coach with the Canadian Mental Health Association and as a Student Psychotherapist in a private practice setting. Ruby has worked with adults, adolescents and couples who need support coping with: depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, difficulties with sleep, relationship and communication challenges, familial misalignments, low self-esteem, self-identity, marital issues, coping with grief and loss and coping with a debilitating physical injury or a health issue.
Ruby uses a holistic and integrative framework and has experience working with a diverse population who come from all walks of life. Ruby is a firm believer that mental distress can impact all areas of life. Ruby likes combining elements of various modalities such as: evidence-based cognitive behavioural interventions with an Adlerian trauma-centred perspective to work with individuals, adolescents and couples.
Ruby believes that: “you are the expert of you”, that means when you are in a therapy session you have the right to advocate for yourself and ensure you receive the best care — whatever that looks like for you. Ruby thinks building a strong therapeutic relationship is essential to success in therapy. This means Ruby aims to walk alongside her clients and attune herself to their needs. Ruby will work with you to delve deeper into certain patterns, challenge your way of thinking and provide validation while ensuring you feel safe and in control.
Ruby is extremely passionate about mental health awareness and strives every day to create a space for dialogue to talk about mental health in the same manner people discuss their physical health. Ruby truly believes mental health and physical health are equally as important, and one should be able to express how they feel as easily as one is able to express if they have a headache or if they think they are coming down with the flu.
Ruby warmly encourages clients to be their own agent of change by booking a session with her today. Ruby offers sessions in English, Punjabi and Hindi.
