Ruby Saini
Clinical Associate
Ruby is a Clinical Associate who has over six years of experience working in the mental health field. Ruby has worked with individuals who need support coping with: depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, difficulties with sleep, relationship and communication challenges, familial misalignments, low self-esteem, self-identity, marital issues, coping with grief and loss and coping with a debilitating physical injury or a health issue.
Ruby likes to describe therapy with her as “being in a room with floor to ceiling mirrors” this way you are able to see yourself from all perspectives and not just the perspective you are used to. This can be instrumental in understanding why you feel the way you feel, why you think the way that you do and why certain actions cause certain reactions. Upon doing this Ruby will work with you to delve deeper into certain patterns, challenge your way of thinking and provide validation while ensuring you feel safe and in control. Ruby believes in Person Centred Therapy, which means that ultimately the client is in control of each session. This results in the client feeling empowered, and encouraged to tap into their desire for growth and change. For Ruby, a key element in building a strong therapeutic alliance is: unconditional positive regard. This means that no matter what the client shares, it will be accepted without any conditions or judgment.
Ruby uses a holistic and integrative framework and has experience working with a diverse population who come from all walks of life. Ruby likes combining elements of various modalities such as: evidence-based cognitive behavioural interventions, emotionally focused therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, with an Adlerian trauma-centred perspective to work with individuals.
Ruby is extremely passionate about mental health awareness and thinks the most important thing you can do for someone is hold space and allow them to feel how they feel. Ruby believes mental health and physical health are equally as important, and one should be able to express how they feel as easily as one is able to express if they have a headache or if they think they are coming down with the flu.
Ruby has completed over 3000 clinical hours. She has completed the Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program and has received a Certificate in Trauma at Adler Graduate Professional School. Ruby is currently supervised by Dr. Shruti Kankaria and is working on obtaining her post masters hours. Ruby is also working towards registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Ruby warmly encourages clients to be their own agent of change by booking a session with her today. Ruby offers sessions in English, Punjabi and Hindi.
