Ruby Saini

Staff Therapist

Ruby Picture.jpeg

Ruby is a Clinical Associate who has over six years of experience working in the mental health field. Ruby has worked with individuals who need support coping with: depression, anxiety, post traumatic stress disorder, difficulties with sleep, relationship and communication challenges, familial misalignments, low self-esteem, self-identity, marital issues, coping with grief and loss and coping with a debilitating physical injury or a health issue.

Ruby likes to describe therapy with her as “being in a room with floor to ceiling mirrors” this way you are able to see yourself from all perspectives and not just the perspective you are used to. This can be instrumental in understanding why you feel the way you feel, why you think the way that you do and why certain actions cause certain reactions. Upon doing this Ruby will work with you to delve deeper into certain patterns, challenge your way of thinking and provide validation while ensuring you feel safe and in control. Ruby believes in Person Centred Therapy, which means that ultimately the client is in control of each session. This results in the client feeling empowered, and encouraged to tap into their desire for growth and change. For Ruby, a key element in building a strong therapeutic alliance is: unconditional positive regard. This means that no matter what the client shares, it will be accepted without any conditions or judgment.

Ruby uses a holistic and integrative framework and has experience working with a diverse population who come from all walks of life. Ruby likes combining elements of various modalities such as: evidence-based cognitive behavioural interventions, emotionally focused therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, with an Adlerian trauma-centred perspective to work with individuals.

Ruby is extremely passionate about mental health awareness and thinks the most important thing you can do for someone is hold space and allow them to feel how they feel. Ruby believes mental health and physical health are equally as important, and one should be able to express how they feel as easily as one is able to express if they have a headache or if they think they are coming down with the flu.

Ruby has completed over 3000 clinical hours. She has completed the Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program and has received a Certificate in Trauma at Adler Graduate Professional School. Ruby is currently supervised by Dr. Shruti Kankaria and is working on obtaining her post masters hours. Ruby is also working towards registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Ruby warmly encourages clients to be their own agent of change by booking a session with her today. Ruby offers sessions in English, Punjabi and Hindi.

Accepting New Clients

Parisa is a practicum student therapist in her second year of the Master of Psychology program at Adler Graduate Professional School. She also holds a Master of Science in Psychology from Western University, London, Ontario.

She has worked with individuals experiencing a range of mental health concerns, including emotional distress, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and difficulties in relationships. She also focuses on working with adults to overcome challenges such as life transitions, obsessive-compulsive disorder, various forms of anxiety, and adult ADHD.

Parisa is particularly passionate about working with couples and helping partners strengthen their connection and improve communication. She believes that healthy, loving relationships are built through mutual effort and collaboration.

She believes in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and offers a welcoming, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment in which individuals feel safe, understood, and able to bring their authentic selves to sessions. Parisa describes the therapeutic relationship as similar to two people paddling a canoe side by side to reach a shared destination that they have envisioned and planned collaboratively.

In her practice, she combines a variety of evidence-based therapies and tailor them to her client’s needs. This may include techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to challenge unhelpful thought patterns or tools from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to explore and help clients express their feelings and emotional needs. She takes a client-centered approach to therapy which means she believes in each individual’s inherent capacity for growth and strives to help unlock the individual’s full potential.

Parisa values culturally sensitive care and takes time to understand each client’s unique cultural experiences to create an environment that respects each individual's values and needs. She continues to refine her skills under the supervision of Dr. Shruti Kankaria. Parisa offers sessions in English and Farsi.
